Madoka and Homura sketchy lineart by jpeg96 Madoka and Homura sketchy lineart by jpeg96
I'm doing a collaboration with someone. To be honest I don't even know why I agreed on the subject being madoka magica fanart but... whatever. It makes me happy that I'll never work on this again. Kind of dropped the ball on some elements of it during the end. Hope my friend won't mind the detail ( I hope he just paints over it) :3. In case you're wondering, that's Madoka's long hair. Artistic licence ftw.

Thanks kizay! I would like to go to an animation school too. I will be posting more once I finish my exams. For hands, look at other artists that draw hands well(but once you're ok with the structure you've learnt from them study real hands). Also when trying to study them, focus on certain "pose groups" like for example: the clenched fists group, wide open hand group etc that helps remebering poses and focusing on their characteristics better.

this is truly beatiful. the hair is really good and the folds too! oh and the rest too o.o
good job!

btw.: when did you start with drawing? :)
oh and could you tell me briefly what your thoughts behind the composition were? + how long did it take to draw ( no need to be precise^^ ) + 845 x 769 isn't the full resolution, or is it?

Thank you! I have drawn since kindergarten but it was when I was 15 that I started to care about it. Well I used to take a drawing course even before that where I drew stuff from life but still I only did it because my parents made me not that I liked drawing back then. My thoughts on the composition was that I wanted to move the eye using the dress and hair(not really the way it ended up though). It took very very long. I'm sure it was something like more than 10 hours (and it's just a sketchy lineart...kind of embarrasing)

Hah, I check other artists' age all the time, and I'm like "Oh great, so I still have some time to catch up to him/her" or  "No! He/she's younger than me! D:< " but I'm trying to get used to not caring about it anymore. If I do it I just end up wasting time looking at stuff on DA all day drawing nothing, trying to find a way justify my age/skill relation. It's a sterile midset imo.

All you have to do is draw what you really like and try to get better at it. You should observe from life and other artists, always be observant. I am from Albania (East Europe).

You are right, the shapes do have a baroquesque feel! It's also  good to hear that my effort to do some composition is visible.

I think of having good design, and take my time to figure out a interesting shape. For folds... I always imporvise those. I guess, as long as it looks good it's ok.
